Thoughts after today!!!

Ok so we had a little run in today on CFFB!! It got me thinking. What is the true meaning of doing crossfit. Is it to improve who you are as a person, and athlete, or just overall life fitness.
I ask this question to all of who who follow this blog. Tell the crew what crossfit is to you.

  1. I started Crossfiting because my general workouts weren't cutting it at the time. I was a live in firefighter at the time, and competed in events such as the Firefighter Combat challenge.

My training just wasn't giving me what I needed. So I started flipping tires doing stair circuits with movements mixed in while wearing my gear and what not. I read about Crossfit in a little clip at the bottom of a Outside magazine back in 07. I went to the site and it seemed to fit what I was trying to do.

I'd been a wrestler most of my athletic life with some rugby my senior year and after high school as well. I missed competing. Crossfit helped with that.

But once I got involved it was the community that really got me. Working out in a carport with my buddies was the best part of my day. It totally changed my career path. I became a trainer then made the transition to CF Coach.

Crossfit inspired Old Country and its Barbell Club. And even though we may not be all that "traditional Crossfit" anymore, the grass roots working out with your buddies theme I found those years back still comes from Crossfit. It's all about the community.

Saw your doing the Open Rose. That's awesome boss. I would like to knock some ideas around about training during it with you if you got the time boss.

I have about 15 from my gym doing it and a couple of solid pipehitters. But its hard being their Coach and competing at the same time. Be good to have a outside competitor to shoot the shit with about all of it.

Just drop me a line if you got time brotha.
